about

A Moment’s Worth consists of five long-time friends from the Bronx, NY who share an insatiable drive to write, create, and perform their own music. Since 2004, A Moment’s Worth has inspired their tightly-knit fans with their tremendous energy, passion, and thoughtful lyrics. Past album releases include Ironic Last Words (2004), A Moment’s Worth (2007), and Sleepless EP (2008). With each successive album release, AMW’s growth and evolution as artists are evident. The band owes their maturity and depth in musicianship to their own hard work, as AMW carefully crafts, records, and produces each song, aided by the production talents of their very own guitarist, Nicola Terzulli.

START WHERE YOU ARE, A Moment’s Worth’s most recent release, testifies to the band’s artistic maturation. The album is infused with a heartfelt motif: be true to your inner voice and, most importantly, don’t let past hardships stop you from dreaming--use them to propel you forward. Start Where You Are’s track “Push” embodies this message. Its tempo, which mimics a quick-paced heartbeat, is incredibly apropos, as the lead singer, Alex Bondarev, draws on deeply personal, poignant memories from his childhood. Despite the wounds of his past, he does not take the present for granted, for he realizes that his “roads led to this moment,” face to face with the things he loves most: the people in his life, his music, and his fans. The sincerity of AMW’s “Push” and the album’s overall theme is contagious, inspiring and encouraging fans to follow their own intuition and go where their hearts lead them.

The unique sound of Start Where You Are is the product not only of this unprecedented, wide-open window into the lives of AMW’s band members, but also of the incredible amount of teamwork that went into the album. Over the course of many sleepless nights, the band weaved into their songs the guest vocals, mandolins, and other musical additions that their friends and fans provided. The end result exceeded all of AMW’s hopes and expectations; their unrestrained lyrics and inventive beats work together to create a musical autobiography that is representative of their journey as a band thus far.

To each member, being in a Moment’s Worth is much more than just being in a band. For them, the most rewarding experience is playing to a crowd that knows and sings the lyrics AMW has poured their time, lives, and hearts into. Hearing their fans’ voices echo off the walls heartens and reassures the band that their messages, living in the present and appreciating life to the fullest, resonate with listeners. A Moment’s Worth reminds us of the limitless importance of accepting and knowing ourselves through and through.

A Moment’s worth is Alex Bondarev, Anthony Albanese, Frank Quarto, Johnny Endico, and Nicola Terzulli.

Track Name: A Place Where There Was...
I know why you didn't know. I know why you had to learn on your own where to go.
'Cause when my footsteps begin to fade when the ground's been worn for days, you can walk on your own safely home.
Track Name: Start Where You Are
Are you afraid again? Is nobody listening? Does nobody comprehend what it is you're going through?
Well I am alone again and I am afraid, my friend. When silence is turbulent play the song pulsing in you.

An azure summer sky frames the past that passed us by in a photograph now face down by your window. (And it goes) Plays like a song I knew back when I used to write for you, but now the lyrics are a bit hard to remember. (And it plays)
Sounds of summer echo on: shifting gears, blowing wind, and a nervous laughter.

Well I am alone again and I am afraid my friend. No one needs to understand what it is I'm going through. Not even you. When you were always on my mind, yeah when we were always.

Wake from a dream to the smell of summer rain. When we say "always" do we mean "always run away?" St. Mark's and 3rd and alcohol. I'm coming home too late to call. The books and the cards and the late night drives. How I tried to see the future when I searched your eyes. Glen Island Park after dark. And now I tell myself, "start where you are."
Track Name: Rule No. 1
Well I don't suppose I know just what my life is and where it's gonna go. The only thing I know is that I'm here and I'm open.
A vision of a life familiar but not mine, feels of something simpler—like 18 watching the tide. Or crashing in your dim-lit room on my visits home to you. Is that alright maybe? Is it something I could do?

Just one more time I wanna sing a song I would write. A song that brings a love back to life. I want it to be true.

Well I catch myself sometimes comparing mine to other people's lives and one thing that I've learned is that the grass ain't any greener.
Are you still with me my love? Or wondering what I'm made of? Is there's something I can't give? Is this a way to live?

Just one more time I'll drive you crazy and make you laugh before you cry and when you smile and say you hate me, a life for love is love for life.

Whose side are we on?

A voice that sounds alone is singing on my phone, rings through my ears as it pulls me back home. What I did for you reflects a deeper truth, a sense of a faith, and a path that I walk with you.
Track Name: 6 AM
I wake up 6AM and you are still dreaming around me, it's dark around me. I hop on the 6 train and watch the sun rise to the world around me, it wakes around me.

The sky explodes, the buildings are aglow and I think that I should get you on the phone to tell you how the world makes sense right now and it brings me back to hope and it brings me back to...

The city never sleeps but I see it waking every morning, every morning as the vendors line streets and prepare their magazines and people rush off to their empty jobs and angry bosses.

Yeah, I see it every day and it's the same old story: in the world he sits alone basking in the glory of being young and hopeful while the cynics fill the streets. But it's of no matter to him, he's got no reason to compete—oh, no.

I have a vision for the better, I trust that all we need in life is already here to come together, believe me it will be alright. A bright reflection in the distance, a guiding path that blinds my sight. A song I wrote to help remind me to stop the struggle, trust in life.
It brings me back to you.
Track Name: Favorite Song
You’re my favorite song—a simple melody, the words said right on time with pure sincerity.
Sung just slightly out, just slightly out of key, and a little bit too loud. You’re just so carefree.
I never would have had the strength to say what’s in my head, I would just run away, I would just run.
Instead I see the world for all its possibility. And I’m afraid right now but that won’t stop me.

Go and sing the words you know, sing them like you never did before. Your heart’s the only cure to this too scared, too fast, disappearing world.

You’re not like the rest: no make up, hair’s not done and you don’t seem to care. (Don't) care about what they might think about your laugh. No you don’t try to hide your tired eyes or broken hands.
I wanna go back one time.

I breathed you in in California sitting on the LA sand, as the ocean crashed around me and pierced my soul. I felt your warmth one tired morning as I sat there all alone—a light so beautiful said “there is something more.”
I felt you in my running down my tears when I was shaking with my fear, I heard your footsteps as I stumbled on my own.
And I just wanted to say that even when I fought and pushed away, you always led me home.
Track Name: Push
And I push you to move.

We don't know when we came into this place or how, but here we stand: a certitude masked by a voice that isn't ours. And we're afraid. And we're ashamed, but we can tell it to shut up at any..

(Time) it don't matter much to me. I only used think I lost it as if I ever had it in my pocket. And you will feel better when you see that all your roads led to this moment: face to face with me. And I push you to move.

Suspended in space and time, a camera spins in my mind. You've got this distant cold look in your eyes and almost like a memory with the blurred periphery—you've got your words set and I've got my eyes shut.

Once distant childhood memories are flashing right front of me. The stories my grandfather told are playing on a movie screen. The people that I used to draw, the teenage years and alcohol, the burning in my throat that came from picking up the telephone. India felt so alive as I sat by the ocean-side, through the door my parents fight while my sister cried. And every word I've heard and said embedded somewhere in my head, imagined where I'd be but every step I took led here instead: face to face with you.

And you push me to move.
Track Name: Of Gratitude
He’s on his way to a church he finally found somewhere downtown. “I swear its gotta have the answers now for why my life has turned upside down.” Another day that the alcohol he holds (is) his only friend. “Just one more gulp to numb life down,” but still the ache won’t go away.

And if the world was up to him he’d turn it back, beg it to make up for all the things he lacks. But would he see that there is nothing that he needs that he don’t have, he'd keep it running. Would he keep it turning just the way it has?

She’s far away as she’s squinting in the mirror blurring features on her face. “I used to be so much prettier. And maybe that’s why he’s gone away.” No words to say for the old friend who’s been listening to her cry except “I promise things will turn around maybe tomorrow, for sure some day.”

Oh, if the world was up to her she’d turn it back. Beg it to make up for all the things she lacks. But would she see that there is nothing that she needs that she don’t have, she'd keep it running? Would she keep it turning just the way it has?

If the world was up to me, I’d hand it back. I'd learn to trust in life to give us what we lack. I’d learn to feel a gratitude for even that which I don’t have. I'd keep it running. Yeah, I'd keep it turning just the way it has.
Track Name: Hero
You smile as you tell me about your day. When I've given up on words you've got a million things to say. I've been seeing you've been helping keep Mom strong these days. No complaints about the new apartment where the two of you will stay.

Oh, you are wise beyond your years my bright soul.

You're my hero. You give me hope. With your cheerful disposition, words of wisdom, and compassion, you're my hero.

Six years ago we didn't even know your name but somehow you saved our family on the day you came. See I know that you've been helping Dad go on these days. He teaches you so many things I'm sure you teach him just the same.

Somebody asked me who I look up to. I thought of just your face. You kept me together throughout this disaster. You've been my saving grace. That's why I said you're my hero.
Track Name: The Calling
Everybody knows a truth inside that louder grows. Everybody knows, yeah everybody knows.
Everybody knows it's what's inside of us that shows. Everybody knows, yeah everybody knows.

You're telling me it's overwhelming to do your best when it feels like everything is ending. Life feels so slow when all you do is dream of sleep while you're awake oh I know.

Did you ever really hear me? Did you hear a word I said? (Like a storm across the ocean and a wave that carries hope to destroy the walls that hold you and the darkness that you've known.)

All my life I've been looking for answers and now I look inside and find the strength that I've wanted to know.

There are no words that I can say to take your pain 'cause it's something that you live with every day. But with your life you have inspired me to be a better person so I'm telling you right now if you give up, there goes your life. There go your choices and the people that you love. There goes my friend, there goes the end, and there I go to pull you right back here again.

Did you ever really hear me? Did you hear a word I said?
Track Name: Dedicate
When I look back on life will I see years of hesitation? Or was it all just right? Will I still be asking questions?
Will I be self-consumed? Or consumed in being selfless? Will I have left too soon? Have I abandoned feeling helpless?

Will I remember when they told me I had a reason for this life, I said I should. And they said, "go, son, and make the most of yourself." I said I would.
You are here right now but you want to be somewhere else. You were there before but you wanted to be where you're now.) Oh your sought-after happiness, did you ever finally find it? Or was there always somewhere better or best where any day now―any day now you would.

I want to dedicate my heart so fully to someone that I love so truly.
I want to dedicate my life so fully to something I believe in.
Track Name: ...Nowhere Left to Go
The air we breathe is cold but comes out warm as we let go―changes shape and form, a part of us but never owned.
And so I’ve been transformed just like the air that leaves my lungs. I’ve landed in your arms but never long enough to hold.

But I plan to take this journey to its very final step. And I plan to let it take me, promise to hold nothing back. And I won’t forget the love and friends I’ve called my own. I won’t forget the footsteps that I took back home.

So by now, you know what you are: A light to pierce ocean, an echo from a star. As for me--you’re never really far from my heart.

It starts with just one thought that like a ripple turned (into) a wave becomes powerful enough to wash entire empires away.
It pulsates through our blood and it’s in the impulse of our brains. A Taoist paradox that we give is what we take.

But I plan to take this journey to its very final step. And I plan to let it take me, promise to hold nothing back. And I won’t forget the love and friends I’ve called my own. I won’t forget the footsteps that I took back home.
Track Name: Legacy
A heartless path that you abandoned to pursue your passion―security and salary will not suffice. You said goodbye, tears in your eyes, the parents said you’re crazy. “This isn’t logical, but I’ve only got one life.”

How did you get to where you are? How did you go so far? When everyone told you what you’re not, did you know you were a star?

Another day, a fading place, a hopeful conversation, but you miss obscurity―fame’s never what it seems. You’ve always known there was a reason for imagination. Grandfather taught you that your life is what you dream.

So in eternity this dream will live with me. For eternity will you come dream with me?

How did you get to where you are? How did you go so far? When everyone told you what you’re not, did you know you were a star?
I will follow. I’ll be following the sound that my heart makes ‘til my body hits the ground.

Are you afraid again? Is nobody listening? Does nobody comprehend what it is you're going through? Well I am alone again and I am afraid my friend. When silence is turbulent play the song pulsing in you.
